Choose how to compress your PDF

Start with text-preserving compression. For image-heavy documents, compare JPEG optimization or scan compression and review the result.

How it works

  1. Add your PDF and try the default text-preserving option.
  2. If needed, choose JPEG optimization or scan compression and review the warning.
  3. Compare the reported file sizes, inspect small text and images, then save.

Before you start

Size reduction is not guaranteed. JPEG optimization can soften image detail. Scan compression creates an image-only PDF and removes selectable text, links and forms. Keep the original.

Keep your original file and review the saved result before sharing.

This tool processes document contents in your browser. Account, saved-workflow and billing data are handled separately. Your files do not transfer between browsers or devices.
