How your files are handled
The everyday PDF tools process file contents in your browser. Account, saved-workflow and billing data are handled separately.
Your document workspace
The local tools work with document contents in the browser workspace. Clear the workspace when you are done, and keep copies of your originals and finished downloads. Downloads you save remain on your device.
Files do not transfer between browsers or devices. Keep the page open until you have saved your result.
Local PDF-to-Word and OCR exports contain editable text, not the original layout.
Saved workflows
Workflow names and settings are stored with your account. Avoid putting sensitive information in those fields. You can delete individual saved workflows from the Pro workspace.
Account and billing information
When you sign in, The File Nest stores your account identifier, email address, display name and saved workflow settings. Subscription records include billing identifiers, status and payment-event information.
Email sign-in uses Supabase; ChatGPT sign-in uses your ChatGPT identity. Sign-in uses cookies to maintain your session. These sign-in methods create separate accounts.
Stripe handles checkout and subscription management. The site loads fonts from Google and uses hosting services, which receive ordinary request information. Browser-local file processing does not mean that visiting, signing in or paying is anonymous.
This page explains the current product’s file-handling behavior. It is not a complete privacy policy or a promise about account-data retention or deletion.
For questions about account information or a privacy request, contact The File Nest.
